About Matt Smidt

Matt Smidt is a local Brisbane artist who discovered his talent at a very early age. His love for sketching, grew into painting, and then developed into a passion for airbrushing. 

From here, Matt studied photo-realism and custom graphics under many notable International artists. 

Forever being a student, Matt is always developing his style and technique to keep the art of creativity alive.

In 2014, Matt founded Matticulous Art, which is the hub of all things creative. With a profound enthusiasm, Matt’s credo is “To paint anything on everything”. This can be seen by the varied works that he produces, from street art to portraiture, custom graphics to fine art, pin striping to pop art, sculpting to illustration and design, and mural art.

Matt’s work can be seen in cafes and small businesses in South East QLD, local schools, learning centres and child care facilities, community halls, animal rehabilitation centres and on the walls of many private residencies. 

He also works with youth through private tuition and within the community, teaching them painting and airbrushing skills while producing murals and other art work. Known for his ability to keep true to his namesake, Matt is meticulous in striving for perfection, ensuring every piece of work he produces is of an exceptional quality.
